Joeramin Salawa, 33 years old and a resident of Brgy. Talcon, Tboli, was identified as the suspect by Barangay Chairman Ato Bansawan of Brgy. Talcon, Tboli. The officer claimed that he arrested the young man because he was supposedly going to court to see his grandchild.

His granddaughter was apparently at a Quarantine facility in their barrio after returning from Manila, based on the report. He was also spotted roaming around the Quarantine/Isolation Facility of their region outside, according to the captain.

When the captain received this text from his granddaughter inside the facility, he became very concerned. Salawa allegedly entered and shouted at the girl while she was lying on the bed, causing the girl to become confused. So far, the suspect has been accused of violating their town’s basic health protocols.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police Chief Guillermo Eleazar stated that village security or “tanods” are no longer allowed to carry any form of fire arms during the quarantine. This after the recent incident involving a barangay tanod shooting to death a 59-year-old curfew violator in Tondo, Manila, sparked outrage across the country. Furthermore, residents said the man supposedly had a mental illness.
