No Ayuda For Liquor Ban Violators Says Pateros Mayor

No Ayuda For Liquor Ban Violators, Pateros Mayor Orders Exclusion

LIQUOR BAN VIOLATORS – According to Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III, violators of the previous liquor ban should not be included in the list for “Ayuda” this coming ECQ.

Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases and the confirmation of local cases of the Delta Variant, Metro Manila will be placed under its third enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). But, as the lockdown looms, people are calling for cash aid amid the new quarantine.

However, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque recently said that the government still needs to prepare for the upcoming Ayuda funds. In a televised press briefing, Roque stated that the government still doesn’t know where to get the funds from.

With this, he urged residents to get cash loans if they need a budget for the ECQ. Meanwhile, if the Ayuda does come, Ponce said violators of the Liquor ban from July 30 to August 20 should be removed from the Ayuda list.

“Our liquor ban is continuously violated. Yesterday we received messages that there are people who gather and drink liquor in inner areas. Our police are already having difficulty because of so much work.

Because you have the money for liquor. Since it seems that you are not experiencing hardship in life or during the pandemic, when there is ‘ayuda’ coming from the government, I will remove your names”

However, exempted from this ban is the delivery of liquor and similar beverages outside of Pateros. The ECQ is to be implemented across Metro Manila on August 6, 2021.
