Brigada Eskwela Continues Despite Online Class Scheme

DepEd Continues Brigada Eskwela Amid Online Class Scheme

BRIGADA ESKWELA CONTINUES – Even with the new online class system, the Department of Education (DepEd) is still preparing for Brigada Eskwela.

Throughout the years, Brigada Eskwela has become a staple event across the Philippines. However, with the presence of local Delta Variant transmissions, one would think DepEd would skip out on the event.

Currently, 100% of face-to-face classes are still not allowed across the country. So far, only pilot tests of face-to-face classes have been scheduled for some tertiary courses, especially those taking medicine and nursing.

But, Brigada Eskwela is set to begin on August 3 to September 30. According to an article from Philstar, DepEd said a national virtual launch is to be led by the Schools Division of Tagum City in Region 10.

Recently, DepEd released a memorandum stating division and regional offices were ordered to undergo their Brigada Eskwela in anticipation of the new school year. This, despite face-to-face classes still not allowed for the majority of the country.

Still, DepEd also ordered that those who would undertake the Brigada Eskwela must comply with health protocols such as social distancing. Furthermore, proper hygiene guidelines and standards must also be followed.

As per the article, the School Year 2021-2022 adopted the Brigada Eskwela Slogan “Bayanihan para sa Paaralan”. Meanwhile, the regional theme for the event was dubbed “Handang Paaralan para sa Handang Pasukan”.

DepEd said that the theme focused on promoting collaborations for safe living while addressing social issues and other concerns within school grounds, at home, or in the community.
