Vessel Under Quarantine Off Albay As Two Crew Positive For Delta Variant

According to an article from ABS-CBN, Capt. Wlmo Maquirang, deputy commander of PCG-Bicol Region said:

In quarantine pa rin po one nautical mile na waters sa Lidong, Sto. Domingo, Albay. Bantay-sarado po ng Philippine Coast Guard saka ng Maritime Group at Philippine Navy

Furthermore, the two positive cases were both male deck cadets from Albay and Calabarzon who worked on the MV Clyde and Barge Claudia. The vessel arrived in Albay from Butuan City on July 20 wherein 11 of the 19 crew members tested positive for COVID-19.

As per the article, the members who were positive were asymptomatic. “Tinatanong natin sila kamusta kayo. They are saying malalakas po sila. Wala po silang symptoms sabi nila“.

Due to this, nobody has been allowed to go near the vessel and crew members aren’t allowed to disembark and go to shore. However, Maquirang did not disclose how long the crew are going to remain under quarantine.
