Female PNP Applicants Donate Hair For Wigs Used By Cancer Patients
PNP DONATE HAIR FOR CANCER – Female applicants of the Philippine National Police (PNP) donated their hair to support cancer patients.
Cancer has long been one of the most prevalent diseases across the globe. Unfortunately, cancer treatment and recovery is a hard and grueling process. However, with the support of a caring community, patients are never along in their fight.
Recently, 53 bags of hair were donated to cancer patients thanks to female applicants of the PNP. This was in relation to the launch of BARANGAYanihan “Alay ni Tatay at Nay” program. Among the areas that contributed to the program are Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Imelda Tolentino, Mimaropa police information officer, stated that the project’s partners include the Police Officers’ Ladies Club Mimaropa, Soroptimist International Kabayan, and Hair for Hope, which works with Makati Medical Center and Asian Hospital to provide free wigs to cancer patients.
Furthermore, this project aims to get more female applicants to undergo training for the Public Safety Pasic Recruit Course. Additionally, instead of getting expensive cuts in barbers or salons, they get free haircuts in exchange for their donation.
