Reclining Cinema Seat Kills Man, Crushes Him To Death Via Extreme Pressure On Neck
RECLINING CINEMA SEAT CRUSHES – Who knew that a simple cinema seat could be the cause of death of a man?
When watching movies, cinemas have always used reclining cinema seats to provide patrons a comfortable movie experience. Meanwhile, for Vue Cinemas, they take it to a whole new level with their “luxury gold class” chairs.
However, this luxury class seat sadly caused the death of cinemagoer Ateeq Rafiq. According to a report from LadBible, Rafiq suffered a cardiac arrest after the reclining seat exerted extreme force to his neck.
The 24-year-old man died after his wife, Ayesha Sardar, attempted to remove the footrest off her husband’s neck. Sadly, it wouldn’t budge quick enough. Rafiq passed out when it was finally removed from his neck.
Afterward, he was revived with CPR. Unfortunately, he died a week later due to what doctors called “catastrophic brain injuries”. The Incident happened back March 2018 in the Star City Complex in Birmingham.
But, it was only recently that the company was sentenced a fine. Meanwhile, the judge that handled the case stated that a numerous patrons of the cinema could’ve possibly been exposed to the same injuries.
As per the article, Rafiq got into the unfortunate situation to retrieve his wallet and phone that fell underneath the chair. Unfortunately, the footrest of the seat he was stuck on was unable to be lifted by hand.
