IG Model Falls To Death Following Waterfall Selfie At Pineapple Mountain
IG MODEL FALLS TO DEATH – A tragic incident occurred after an influencer tried to take a selfie atop a waterfall in Pineapple Mountain, Hong Kong.
According to local reports, 32-year-old Sofia Cheung came to visit the Ha Pak Lai park with a couple of her friends on July 11. Due to the serene view, she couldn’t help taking photographs.
However, when she took photos of the edge of the waterfall, tragedy struck. Sofia lost her footing and fell 16ft into the pool below. Afterward, her friends immediately called for medical assistance and took her to the nearest hospital.
Sadly, she was declared dead on arrival. Reportedly, the location where the influencer took the photos was popular with hikers, especially with the nice sunset.
Looking at Sofia’s Instagram page, you could see beautiful photos of her travels as a hiker. “‘Hiking, Kayaking, Explorer, Outdoor activities, Photography. Life should be fun not dumb”, her Instagram bio read.
On Twitter, fans and fellow hikers/photographers sent their sentiments regarding the incident. One netizen said:
So sad to see another needless death while taking a ‘selfie’. Too often we see deaths, including due to drowning, as people take risks to get the perfect shot. A great Instagram photo is not worth the risk.
