Delivery Riders Who Called Korean Boy Group BTS as “BIOT” Suspended

The management of delivery services suspended some delivery riders who allegedly called the South Korean boy group BTS “BIOT”.

The spread of a screenshot showing several Grab delivery riders denigrating their favorite group, especially the LGBT community, has enraged the internet community and Filipino fans of K-pop group BTS or Bangtan Boys.

This was posted on the Facebook group ‘Grab Express & Grab Food,’ with the user asking if they were willing to take a day off if McDonalds’ BTS Meal was available in the Philippines. In one tweet, a delivery rider asked, “Handa na ba kayo mag-day off sa Friday mga Ka-BIOT?”

The netizen advises some of his fellow fans to purchase their BTS meals directly from McDonald’s, claiming that the fast-food chain deserved the delivery costs more than these Grab riders, as well as avoiding homophobic harassment.

Regarding the discrimination of its own delivery riders, Grab Philippines reacted quickly. Riders who made homophobic remarks towards BTS and the Pinoy Armys were suspended by the management.
