Jolina Magdangal revealed this thing about her and Marvin Agustin
Magandang Buhay host Jolina Magdangal made new revelations about her iconic role in the movie Labs Kita Okay Ka Lang with Kapuso star Marvin Agustin.
The said movie was released in 1998. Jolina played the role of Bujoy and Marvin played Ned and their characters are best friends.
However, on the part of Bujoy, it was already more than friendship. In the famous scene that became iconic, the character of Jolina said this:
“Oh, yes kaibigan mo ‘ko. Kaibigan mo lang ako. And that’s all I ever was to you, Ned, your best friend. Takbuhan mo kapag may problema ka, taga-sunod, taga-bigay ng advice, taga-enroll, taga-gawa ng assignment. Taga-pagpatawa sa iyo kapag nalulungkot ka. Tagatanggap ng kahit na ano… and I’m so stupid to make the biggest mistake of falling in love with my best friend. Dahil kahit kelan, hindi mo naman ako makikita eh, kahit kelan hindi mo ako kayang mahalin na higit pa sa isang kaibigan.“
Jolina Magdangal revealed that in reality she also felt that way during that time. She revealed this on the podcast program of Juan Miguel Severo and Antoinette Jadaone titled Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast, based on the article in the Philippine Star.
“Yung time na yon, iyon talaga ang nararamdaman ko kay Marvin. Yung ‘kaibigan, kaibigan mo lang talaga ko and I’m so stupid.’ Ayon yung moment na ‘yon,” the actress-host revealed.
Juan Miguel said that it was “nakakaloka” that randomly Jolina would make revelations about her feelings for Marvin back then. “Sabi ko pa naman kanina, ‘Itatanong ba natin kay Jolina kung minahal niya si Marvin ever?’” the podcast host said.
Jolina explained that even back then, she has been open about what she felt for Marvin. She added that when they did that movie, she said that that it was not “pa-tweetums” anymore like what they did in the movie Flames: The Movie.
So, for the actress-host, that iconic scene reflected what she felt at that time. “Kada sasabihin ko yung line na ‘kaibigan mo lang’ yung word na ‘lang’ talagang hindi na ko makahinga. Kaibigan mo lang. Parang ganong ang turing mo sa akin,” she shared.
Jolina Magdangal also revealed that she felt a bit jealous of Kristine Hermosa when they did the movie Gimik: The Movie. She said that back then, her love team partner has “something” towards Kristine.
