Roque To Robredo “Clarify Stance On Chinese Vaccines” Before Infomercials
CLARIFY STANCE ON CHINESE VACCINES – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Vice President Leni Robredo should clarify her stand on China’s COVID-19 vaccines.
Recently, Robredo called on to President Duterte to do an infomercial regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. Currently, there’s still a high percentage of Filipinos who opt not to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
As such, the government began ramping up there vaccination program. As such, Senator Joel Villanueva earlier suggested that Robredo and Duterte conduct a “joint public service announcement” as a bid to boost public trust on vaccines.
However, during his daily briefing in “Laging Handa”, Roque said:
Unang una, linawin natin kung talagang tatanggapin ng Vice President ang lahat ng bakuna kasi nagkaroon siya ng mga unang deklarasyon na mukhang hindi rin siya approve sa mga Chinese vaccine at pinulitika rin po ‘yang issue na ‘yan
Earlier, Robredo Sided with doctors from the Philippine General Hospital who said they need further review of China’s Sinovac vaccines. But, Roque took this as a form of politicizing China’s donations.
Irked, Roque said “Para bagang may kapalit ‘yung ating WPS (West Philippine Sea) issue dito sa mga bakuna. Linawin muna natin kung anong paninindigan talaga ni VP Robredo“.
Currently, Robredo and her office had yet to release a public statement regarding this issue.
