Dentists and Medical Technologists Are Urged to Work as “Vaccinators” Amid Crisis
A bill was push on the senate proposing that dentists and medical technologists can also work as “vaccinators” amid the public crisis.
Three congressmen also proposed that dentists and medical technologists be allowed to act as “vaccinators.” House Bill 9354, introduced by House Committee on Health chair Angelina Tan, Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo, and Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte, seeks to amend Republic Act 11525, or the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021.
Doctors, nurses, certified pharmacists, and midwives are among those that may be vaccinated as part of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, according to the statute. However, lawmakers emphasized that the extra medical staff would significantly aid the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program.
Medtech and dentists must have knowledge of vaccination so they can do a lot to speed up the mass vaccination program. In the face of the expected arrival of more vaccines in the country, vaccination should be speeded up to anticipate the possible expiration or wastage of vaccines if vaccination is slow.
