Fire Rescue Volunteers Hold “Night Charity Ride” for to Help Homeless People

Members of the fire volunteers group in Quezon City held a “night charity ride” to extend help for homeless people in Novaliches.

On Friday night, some young members of a fire volunteer group went around Quezon City, offering assistance to the needy people they encountered on the streets. A student fire volunteer, Sean Laurence Parra, said the night charity trip was for the benefit of those in need during the pandemic.

They figured it would be a fun night out because they will be able to see who was in need and who was sleeping on the street. Around 20 firefighters participated in the fundraiser ride, which raised funds to purchase food and other necessities. They only collected and distributed about 100 packs tonight.

Iyong iba wala naman ginagawa, so tumulong nalang sa bayan,” said Parra.

Parts of Novaliches, Quezon City, were circled by the riders’ party. They want the charity ride to be replicated in the hopes of attracting more volunteers and raising more funds.
