Van in Caloocan Seized by LTO for Allegedly “COVID-19 Human Trafficking”
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) personnel seized a colorum van in Caloocan City after caught over “COVID-19 human trafficking.”
LTO operatives caught the van from Caloocan illegally carrying passengers out of the “National Capital Region (NCR) Plus” bubble. The LTO said the van had five passengers and was scheduled to drop passengers on the Quezon and Camarines Sur boundary.
Based on the report, there were five passengers on board. In front of the vehicle, there were tires that cover the items of passengers. According to the management, about 60 smugglers have been caught in the area.

Meanwhile, the authorities intercepted the truck used in ‘COVID human trafficking in Del Gallego, CamSur. The passengers are leaving the NCR plus bubble going to Bicol without COVID-19 documents.
Based on the previous report, illegal dispatchers use social media to look for passengers. After passengers confirmed the illegal booking, they will be picked up by a colorum vehicle.
After the vehicle passed through checkpoints, the passengers will then exit and get on colorum vans, which would bring them to their respective provinces. The said truck was not inspected as it showed documents saying it is carrying fish products.
