15 NAIA Passengers Presenting Fake COVID-19 Test Results Arrested
Authorities arrested 15 passengers of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after presenting fake COVID-19 test results.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas warned again the public who will be caught using fake swab test results for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and presenting other fake medical documents in transit.
Sinas warned the public after the PNP-Aviation Security Group intercepted 15 passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) who showed fake reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results.

These passengers are from Manila, which is now under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) or NCR plus bubble. Based on the report, the passengers would have traveled to Davao and Zamboanga City.
Sinas said these passengers will be charged with falsification of public documents and violation of Republic Act 11332 or Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
Violation of RA 11332 and falsification of RT-PCR test result is punishable by a fine of P50,000 and imprisonment for at least one month but not exceeding six months.
“Let me reiterate to the public that using fake laboratory results poses a danger to everyone. Our frontliners are risking their lives to save yours, a little bit of concern and cooperation is what we need to fight this unseen enemy,” Sinas said.
