The Huawei Mate 40E was announced on March 10, 2021, and released on March 18, 2021. The smartphone is built with a glass front, a glass back, and an aluminum frame.

Huawei Mate 40E measures 158.6 x 72.5 x 8.8 mm and weighs 188 grams. It comes with a screen size of 6.5” OLED capacitive touchscreen display resolution of 1080 x 2376 pixels.

The 5G-ready smartphone is powered by a 1.95GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 990E processor while the graphics processing unit (GPU) is Mali-G76 MP14. It runs on the Android 10 + EMUI 11 operating system. The phone is packed with 8GB of RAM while the internal storage has 128GB and 256GB options.

The rear side of the Huawei Mate 40E features a triple-camera that consists of a 64-megapixel (wide) + 8-megapixel (telephoto) + 16-megapixel (ultrawide). For clicking selfies and self-shooting videos, there is a single camera on the front that features a 13-megapixel (ultrawide) camera.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS with dual-band A-GPS, BDS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, NavIC, NFC, Infrared port, USB Type-C 3.1, and USB On-The-Go. The phone’s sensors include color spectrum, compass, proximity, gyro, accelerometer, and fingerprint (under display, optical).

Mate 40E is fueled with a non-removable Li-Po 4200 mAh battery + fast charging 40W + fast wireless charging 40W + reverse charging 5W. It is available in three colors: Black, White, and Silver.
