Based on an article from ABS-CBN, Benipayo said:

The work we will need to do on our lines is to ensure that our train system continues to perform at its best. We are doing everything we can for a better and smoother commute on the LRT-1

However, due to the necessity public transportation such as the LRT-1 brings, this may cause woes for commuters. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, public transport has operated with limited capacity to ensure a minimum standard for health protocols could be observed.

Meanwhile, the first batch of new train cars arrived from Spain and Mexico. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said they got the first batch of new train cars to be used for the LRT-1 extension to Cavite.

As per the article, 120 new train cars were ordered from Mexico. Of that 120, four have arrived in the Philippines. These train cars will be used to form 30 four-car train sets. Furthermore, the new system could manage 750,000 daily commuters.
