The ASUS ROG Phone 5 Ultimate was announced on March 10, 2021. The gaming smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 Octa-core processor while the graphics processing unit (GPU) is Adreno 660.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Ultimate runs on the Android 11 + ROG UI operating system. It is integrated with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone supports dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).

The smartphone comes in a 6.78 inches screen size and the display is AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that gives 1080 x 2448 pixels resolution. It measures 172.8 x 77.3 x 10.3 mm and weighs 238 grams.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Ultimate is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The materials used in building the smartphone include a glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus), a glass back (Gorilla Glass 3), and an aluminum frame.

The rear camera of the phone consists of a 64-megapixel (wide) + 13-megapixel (ultrawide) + 5-megapixel (macro) while on the front, there is a single 24-megapixel (wide) camera.

Sensors on the gaming phone include a compass, proximity, gyro, accelerometer, and fingerprint (under display, optical). It also features Bluetooth 5.2, GPS with dual-band A-GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, GNSS, QZSS, NFC, USB Type-C 3.1 (side), USB Type-C 2.0 (bottom), USB On-The-Go, and accessory connector.

The smartphone is powered by a 6000 mAh Li-Po battery (non-removable) + fast charging 65W + reverse charging 10W + power delivery 3.0 + quick charge 5. It was launched in a single color, Matte White.
