Man Losses Life in Bago City after Stabbed by His Accomplice Due to Jealousy
A man in Bago City loses life after he was stabbed by a colleague on a poultry farm due to its intense jealousy for his wife, Monday.
In a report of Remate, the victim was identified as Rommel Marquino, 26, a chicken handler and a resident of Bago City Negros Occidental. The suspect, identified as Daly Villaguarda, 39, was a resident of Brgy. Bagtik, San Remegio.
As per the Bago City Police Station’s report, the crime occurred around 11:30 PM in Upper Pandan, Brgy. Pandan, Bago City. Police Staff Sgt. Abel Nasataya, an investigator at the Bogo City Police Station, Rommel Marquino was sound asleep in their barracks when Daly Villaguarda, under the influence of alcohol, entered.
While there, Villaguarda brandished a knife and inflicted a stab wound to Marquino’s chest before hastily retreating from the location. Despite his injuries, Marquino managed to reach a nearby farm, seeking assistance, and identifying Villaguarda as his assailant.
Marquino was swiftly transported to the hospital but succumbed to his wounds en route. A few hours later, the police apprehended the suspect through a follow-up operation, based on the report.
The suspect’s defense asserted that he committed the crime due to an alleged romantic relationship between the victim and Villaguarda’s wife, Geraline, aged 25. Consequently, the suspect now faces murder charges.
