It will be recalled that in October, the former UFC lightweight world champion decided to retire when he defeated Justin Gaethje in the second-round submission. An emotional Nurmagomedov announces his retirement after his July fight.

“Today, this was my last fight. Ain’t no way I’m going to come here without my father.”

After announcing his retirement last year, it left people to doubt if he could return on the octagon. White had reportedly held out hope that the Dagestani fighter might make a return to the Octagon.

White repeatedly persuaded Nurmagomedov to fight again but he decided to retire. Khabib holds the record of 29 wins and undefeated.
