Alleged NPA Official Slain In Operation In Nueva Vizcaya
NUEVA VIZCAYA – An alleged official of the New People’s Army was killed in a gunfight against authorities in Dupax Del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya.
According to a report from ABS-CBN News, police officers were about to serve a warrant of arrest against Rommel Tucay at his residence in Brgy. Kimbutan in the said municipality when the latter fought back.
Tucay, who has aliases ‘Isaac’, ‘Elmo’ and ‘David’ was allegedly the secretary of the Komiteng Larangang Guerilya Sierra Madre (KLG-SM).
The suspect is also wanted for several cases of murder in the province, as well as Aurora.
Recovered from the crime scene were a 9mm pistol, some cellphone and tablets, a handheld radio, a flash drive, memory card, some books, and an identification card.
Meanwhile, arrested in Aurora was a alleged former Leader of the Aurora Provincial Committee and Central Luzon Regional Committee of the NPA.
The suspect, identified as Delfin Pimentel, 62 years of age, was nabbed for destructive arson and attempted murder that was issued by the court of Santiago City and this province.
Pimentel was previously imprisoned at the provincial jail in 2009 over the case of rebellion. He was involved for ambushing a military official and the murder of seven members of the NPA, based on the report.
