Solenn Heussaff talked about her art exhibit
Actress-host Solenn Heussaff explained the story behind her promotional photo for her art exhibit that went controversial.
The now-deleted photo on her social media account showed that she was sitting in front of her painting with the street as her background that was depicting a poor area.
Many netizens condemned her for allegedly romanticizing poverty and just using the poor to promote her art exhibit. However, many people also defended the Kapuso star and her artistic side.
Solenn apologized to those who felt offended because of her photo. In a recent Julius Babao Unplugged vlog, she explained the story behind the controversial photo. She said that each piece in her art exhibit is trying to show hope despite the current situation in the environment now.
The painting of the jungle, Solenn Heussaff shared that it comes with a carpet piece that is depicting a melted painting.
“The painting melting on to the ground. Mawawala lahat ng iyan if we don’t pay attention… if we don’t start doing something on our own. It starts with just one person,” she explained.
The Kapuso star added that she is not trying to bring awareness because people already knew there is a problem but she is stressing that one can take part and start changing this even at home.
Solenn also said that when she posted the photo, she already had an idea in her mind with the message that she wanted to convey. However, not all the people have the same perspective with her.
“I guess people saw it in a different way and I wasn’t able to explain myself properly,” Solenn Heussaff said.
