5 Students Dead After Balcony Collapses On Fourth Floor
5 STUDENTS DEAD AFTER RAIL COLLAPSE – At least 5 Bolivian students were killed after falling from the fourth floor due to a balcony rail collapsing.
According to reports, the incident happened at the Public University of El Alto (UPEA). The tragedy was also captured in video as a large group of students crowded the balcony. This caused the railing to give way and caused the deaths of the students.
As a response to the incident, Interior Minister Eduardo Del Castillo announced on Twitter:
So far we have a report of five dead and three people in intensive care after what happened at the #UPEA facilities
Along with this, Del Castillo said they have contacted the Chief of Police to make a full report. Furthermore, reports from Xinhuanet said the fatal incident happened during a gathering of Business Administration students.
