Central Visayas Rising Coronavirus Cases Still Under “Safe Zone” Says DOH

CENTRAL VISAYAS RISING CORONAVIRUS – According to the Department of Health (DOH), the increase in COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas is under control.

Despite the growing number of COVID-19 patients, Central Visayas’ health care utilization still falls under 36.7%. As such, DOH-Central Visayas spokesperson Mary Jean Loreche said health facilities are still under a “safe zone”.

Currently, the region has reported a total of 32,088 active coronavirus cases as of Sunday. Furthermore, more than 80 percent of the infected were asymptomatic. Additionally, during an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo, Loreche stated:

We’ve been having triple digits within the past few days already pero within in control pa naman po kasi ‘yung ating kapasidad (because our capacity) to handle these cases kung kinakailangan silang ma-admit ay nand’yan pa naman po (is there in the event they have to be admitted)

Moreover, she noted how there was still no localized lockdowns in Central Visayas. She explained that the rationale behind this is that the economy should re-open eventually and that this would be the new normal with the pandemic.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the reported UK-coronavirus coronavirus case in Cebu, she said:

Yun po kaniyang testing ginawa as a requirement kasi nagaaply po itong magtrabaho sa ibang bansa,” she said. “Hindi po yan nakauwi or umuwi dito
