PNP Launches “Secret Marshals on Motorcycle” to Stop the Riding-in-Tandem Killings
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has launched the “Secret Marshals on Motorcycles” in the repression of riding-in-tandem hitmen killings.
According to Police Chief Gen. Debold Sinas, the PNP has launched Tactical Motorcycle Riding Units (TMRUs) and “secret marshals on motorcycles” to intensify the crackdown on motorcycle-riding hitmen.
“While the use of motorcycles in the Philippines is a popular mode of transportation, motorcycles are also utilized by criminals to easily flee from a crime scene,” Sinas said.
“Motorcycle provides increased maneuverability to navigate to narrow and crowded alleys, sidewalks, busy streets, and even major thoroughfares,” the PNP chief added.

The PNP explained that the TMRUs are “strategically trained” as motorcycle-mounted patrollers who respond to incidents. While secret marshals are “dedicated covert operatives” who will look into the riding-in-tandem suspects.
