For Regine Velasquez, she will remain a Kapamilya
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez expressed that she has no plan of leaving ABS-CBN, her home network now, after spending 20 years in the Kapuso network.
In 2018, Regine made her network transfer, or her coming back, from GMA to the Kapamilya network. Several big brothers lined up for her after she signed a contract with the TV giant that is also a big rival of her former home network.
In a recent virtual media conference for her upcoming concert titled Freedom, Regine Velasquez showed her support for ABS-CBN, based on the article in Bandera.
She was asked about her proudest moment as a Kapamilya and here is what she said: “That I’m still here, that despite what happened, ni hindi sumagi sa isip ko na iwan sila.”
She added that ABS-CBN accepted her with open arms and she would not leave the company now that it needs her more. “I’m happy to be here, despite what’s going on, despite the franchise not being granted,” Regine added.
The Songbird also expressed that she will always be there for her home network and she wants to prove that she is not leaving, she is not going anywhere.
However, Regine Velasquez admitted that she also went through emotional and mental struggles when ABS-CBN was ordered to shut down.
“I was a little scared of what’s going to happen, kasi siyempre, meron kaming mga responsibilities, may anak kami. I was worried for a time,” she shared.
Amid this phase in her life, she is thankful that she has her husband OPM icon Ogie Alcasid beside her.
