The dimension of the smartphone is 163.3 x 74.1 x 7.9mm and weighs 184 grams. It was launched in Black, Blue, Green, and White colors.

Nova 8 Pro 5G is powered by Kirin 985 5G octa-core processor while the GPS is Mali-G77. It runs on Android 10 + EMUI 11. The device is integrated with 8GB of RAM while the internal storage has 128GB or 256GB.

The Huawei Nova 8 Pro 5G comes with a quad-camera on the rear-side that consists of 64-megapixel (wide) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro). It sports a dual camera on the front that consists of a 16-megapixel (wide) + 32-megapixel (ultrawide).

The device is fueled by a 4000 mAh Li-Po battery (non-removable) + reverse charging 5W. Sensors on the smartphone include a gyro, accelerometer, compass, proximity, fingerprint (under display, optical). It also features USB OTG, USB Type-C 2.0, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, NavlC, and Bluetooth 5.2.
