Here’s what Alden Richards went through as a struggling commercial model
Kapuso Pambansang Bae Alden Richards had a humble beginning in showbiz and he recalled the hardships he had when he was still a struggling commercial model.
Indeed, Alden is one of the most successful stars in his generation. He already did several projects that defined his worth as a showbiz personality.
Based on the article from PEP, Alden started auditioning for modeling stints when he was 17 years old. Those times, he went through a lot of rejections as he shared during a recent episode of Eat Bulaga’s Bawal Judgmental.
“Actually, kasi every audition, mahirap siya kasi galing akong probinsya. Kailangan kong lumuwas ng Maynila,” Alden Richards shared.
His main concern at that time was his financial means for his transportation. Alden’s dad back then has a job that the salary was just enough for their daily expenses.
“So, di na ako makahingi. So, dumidiskarte ako ng sarili kong paraan para pamasahe,” the actor-host shared. Alden was still studying back then while having his auditions.
He also recalled that most of the time, he went home failing to get the project from where he auditioned.
“Minsan very depressing din kasi siya. Kumbaga, ang kalaban mo kasi yung pagkakataon, e, yung chance. Parang, ‘What if? What if hindi ka makuha?’ Sayang nga naman yung effort,” the Kapuso star revealed.
One of the factors that motivated him to continue to audition despite of the rejections was his will to earn money despite the insecurities he felt back then.
“Ako, nung time na ‘yon, sobrang insecure ako sa sarili ko. And at the same time, parang pag may mga ganoon akong nakakasama sa mga audition, nakakapanliit. Parang ang hirap,” Alden Richards said.
