The smartphone is powered by an Exynos 9810 and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) upgradable to Android 10, One UI 2.5. It has 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

Galaxy Note9 is fueled by a 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery (non-removable) + fast charging 15W + Qi/PMA wireless charging. It was launched in Metallic Copper, Lavender Purple, Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Pure White, and Alpine White colors.

Sensors on the phone include a compass, proximity, gyro, accelerometer, iris scanner, fingerprint (rear-mounted), SpO2, heart rate, barometer, Samsung DeX, ANT+, and Bixby. It also features USB Type-C 3.1, NFC, GPS, GALILEO, BDS, GLONASS, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0.
