Barangay Chairman Shot to Death Inside Compound in Malabon
A barangay chairman in Malabon died after caught on CCTV being shot by unknown suspect in their compound Monday afternoon.
CCTV captured how the gunman entered the compound gate and shot Anthony Velasquez of Brgy. Hulong Duhat. According to the report of ABS-CBN News, the victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
CCTV captured the culprits riding-in-tandem who immediately escaped. There is an ongoing manhunt for the assailants who are still at large.

The motive for the killing is not yet clear but according to authorities, Velasquez was previously on the narco-list. He was one of the three captains in Camanava who won as captain even though his name was on the narco-list.
His relatives have not yet made a statement. The local government of Malabon, on the other hand, condemned the rising number of people being killed in the city.
There have been several incidents of murder recorded just now in 2021. The city has urged the police to tighten their grip on the suspects and not to repeat the killings in the city.
