Three NPA Rebels Surrendered In San Jose City, Nueva Ecija
NUEVA ECIJA – Three guerillas from the CPP-NPA-NDF have recently surrendered to authorities in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
This was announced by the Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), according to a report from Manila Bulletin.
Col.Marvin Joe Saro, director of the local provincial police, identified the three members as “Ka Eugene,” 56, a barangay Tanod, “Ka Butch,” 48, caretaker, and “Ka Warren/Waldo,” 51, carpenter, all residents of barangay Balbalungao in Lupao.
The three were former members of the Pulang Mandirigma, who was under the Josefino Corpuz Command that was operating in northern Nueva Ecija.
They are currently under the custody of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in order for them to avail of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) program.
E-Clip was made for former rebels who will choose to return to the folds of the law and live a normal life with their families.
Saro added that the surrender of members to the police is the result of the whole-of-nation approach to end the rebellion as stated in Executive Order 70.
EO 70 institutionalizes NTF-ELCAC, which is is being implemented in Central Luzon under Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, who is the chief of Police Regional Office 3, based on the report.
