Here’s the reaction of Bong Revilla to the rumors surrounding Janine Gutierrez’s contract with GMA
Senator Bong Revilla reacted to the allegation that he is the reason behind the non-renewal of the contract of Janine Gutierrez with GMA Network.
In a previous report, it was stated that Janine is already set to sign a contract with ABS-CBN this January. This came after her contract with GMA expired last year.
She has been under the management of the Kapuso network for nine years. In line with this, rumors surfaced that GMA decided not to renew her contract because of her views regarding politics in the Philippines.
In a recent article by entertainment columnist Vinia Vivar in Pang-Masa, it was alleged that Janine Gutierrez’s non-renewal of contract with GMa was due to Senator Bong Revilla.
To recall, Janine was one of the people who criticized the showbiz comeback of the actor-politician. However, Sen. Bong said that he should not be dragged into the issue of Janine’s contract.
“Bakit (ako)? Ako pa? Walang masamang tinapay sa akin. In short, wala sa akin ‘yun kahit ano pa ang nangyari in the past, wala ‘yun. Wala akong kinalaman do’n. In fact, kung ako nga, kung sasabihing gagawa kami ng movie together, I’m very much willing to accept her as my leading lady. Pero kung hindi man, okay lang din,” the actor-politician stressed.
He also said that he does not know the reason behind GMA’s decision not to renew the contract with the actress. However, Bong Revilla stressed that in the industry, “seniority” should be observed.
“Itong mga batang artista, dapat matuto rin silang rumespeto sa mga nakakatanda sa kanila, sa senior sa kanila. Huwag nilang lapastanganin ang mga nakakatanda sa kanila, hindi lang sa amin, hindi lang sa artista. Bilang respeto sa nakakaedad sa ‘yo, matuto ka ring rumespeto,” he pointed out.
