Is this a Filipino child actor in Wonder Woman 1984?

Many Pinoys who have watched Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 might ask if the movie has featured a Filipino child actor.

Filipinos are among the movie lover races in the world. Several Pinoys and with Filipino blood also had the chance to be part of the international movie scene.

This move is the sequel to Gadot’s first Wonder Woman in 2017 and the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The character of Pedro Pascal, Maxwell Lord, a salesman type in the 1980s, has a son and it is played by Lucian Perez.

One might easily perceived that Lucian is a Filipino because of this facial features. However, based on the article by Ruben Nepales in Rappler, people from Warner Brothers’ publicity department said that the child actor is not a Filipino.

“Lucian is not Filipino.  But he gets that question a lot. His mom’s side is 100 percent Chinese; his dad’s side is a blend of European/Mexican/Native American,” the statement from the publicity department said.

On the other hand, Lucian’s “mom did live in the Philippines for a period of time when she was a child,” the PR added in consolation.

The child actor already appeared in several TV shows and worked as a voice actor in animated films. Tough the PR department of Warner Brothers’ said that Lucian Perez is not a Filipino, the child actor, himself clarified that he is a Chinoy, the colloquial term for half Chinese and half Filipino.

The Wonder Woman 1984 child actor even shared that his favorite Pinoy dish is “lechon”.
