Mayor Binay Announces Free COVID-19 Vaccines For Makati Residents
FREE COVID-19 VACCINES – Makati Mayor Abby Binay announced Makati Residents would be receiving free coronavirus vaccines.
Almost a year after the coronavirus pandemic began, several vaccine candidates were developed. As such, countries now strive to procure a vaccine to inoculate their people against the deadly disease.
However, among the many concerns the public has is the availability and costs of these vaccines. Luckily, according to Binay, the people of Makati City need not worry about the costs for such vaccines in the near future.
On her official Twitter, she posted that all residents of Makati will be given free access to coronavirus vaccines. According to Binay, the government of Makati allocated P1 billion for the procurement of a COVID-19 vaccine. However, where the vaccine would come from has yet to be disclosed.

The Philippines’ vaccine czar stated that the government is prioritizing China’s Sinopharm vaccine this first quarter of 2021. However, there have been concerns about the vaccine after it showed 50% efficacy against the virus.
