Badjao Posse “Namamasko” in Metro Manila Rescued by QC Task Force
BADJAO POSSE- Natives roaming around the street of Metro Manila to asked for Christmas presents were saved by QC Task Force Disiplina.
The Quezon City Disciplinary Task Force rescued a group of about sixty Badjao natives who were spotted crowding somewhere in Quezon City on Tuesday night, December 15. Among the natives were children, pregnant women, and senior citizens.
According to a member of the Disciplinary Task Force, they received a call from the Office of the Mayor regarding a group of Badjao people scattered on the street along Quirino Highway in Barangay Talipapa in Sangandaan.
Most of them are not wearing face masks. With the help of Barangay officials and PNP personnel, the natives were taken to the Centris Command Post of the Task Force to spend the night there.

One of the Badjao people admitted that they came from Pampanga and went to Metro Manila to ask for presents. It says they do that every year. They are said to be vendors in the province and their livelihood has been severely affected by the pandemic.
It is said that they will do a lot of Christmas begging in Metro Manila to raise enough money to be used to supplement their livelihoods.
The Task Force explained that the group rescue was part of their regular implementation of health protocols that must be followed to avoid COVID-19.
The badjao posse says they are more afraid of starvation than being infected with the coronavirus. The natives will temporarily stay in the Task Force office until they are delivered back to Pampanga.
