War Materiel Retrieved From Clash In Maguindanao
CLASH IN MAGUINDANAO – The military recently recovered war materiel after a clash ensued between them and an armed group in Maguindanao.
The clash occurred on Tuesday dawn in General Salipada K. Pendatun town, according to a report from GMA News.
Western Mindanao Command chief Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr. reported that troops from the 40th Infantry Battalion were on combat patrol when they happened to spot an undetermined number of armed men under the command of a certain Mac4 in Barangay Bulod.
A clash ensued, which lasted long for five minutes, according to Vinulan.
“Due to our troops’ vantage position, the militants disengaged from the gunfight bringing along their casualties with them,
Recovered from the clash were war materiel. Materiel is defined as military materials and equipment. Included are the following:
- one rocket-propelled grenade
- a barrett
- one M79
- one M14
- two M16
- four 7.62mm AR16
- one pistol or submachinegun 9mm M10
- eight magazines for AR
- two M16 magazines
- four bandoliers
- one hydro pack
- one sling bag
- one magazine for 9mm pistol or submachine gun
- five cellular phones
- 26 rounds cartridge of caliber .50 Ball
- 89 rounds of 7.62mm Ball
- 48 rounds of 5.56mm Ball
- one Baofeng radio with spare battery
- one Cygnus radio spare battery
Based on the report, 1st Mechanized Brigade chief Colonel Jesus Rico Atencio commended the 40IB troops for the successful operation.
