Duterte Told Critics: “Palit Tayo” After He Was Questioned About Schedule

DUTERTE TO CRITICS: “PALIT TAYO” – President Rodrigo Duterte pulled the “Edi Kayo Na Lang Mag Pangulo” card during his weekly address to the nation.

For the most part, supporters of the administration are usually the ones telling the opposition “edi kayo na lang mag presidente”. However, in his most recent public address, Duterte told his critics: “Palit tayo. Matutunaw yung utak niyo“.

These statements came after critics began to question the President’s schedule. Previously, Duterte emphasized that even if he starts his day at 2:00 PM, that doesn’t mean that he’s slacking off.

I told you frankly, my day starts at two o’clock in the afternoon. Pero hanggang gabi na ako, papunta ng gabi. Walang limit na ‘yan… But for the reason na ganon nga body clock ko, and I have a job to do and I have to do it right. And what do you do? What do you mean? Tapos sabihin niyo hindi nagtatrabaho.

Furthermore, Duterte asserted that he never kept his schedule confidential. Once again, the President highlighted that he had always told media that he was a “night person”.

According to Duterte, the reason for his schedule stems from his days as Mayor of Davao City. During this time, Duterte said he needed to read heavy amounts of paperwork, which took him all night, and would only sleep once his work was done.

Amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, which brought massive flooding to areas such as Marikina and Catanduanes, netizens called out Duterte for supposedly being absent. But, Duterte said explained that he’d already given instructions for the response and relief plans.
