Director of “Four Sisters Before The Wedding” talked about the movie
Filmmaker Mae Cruz Alviar revealed that she felt “pressured” after accepting the movie project Four Sisters Before The Wedding.
The said movie is the prequel of Four Sisters And A Wedding featuring, Angel Locsin, Toni Gonzaga, Shaina Magdayao, Bea Alonzo, and Enchong Dee. It was directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
Star Cinema, ABS-CBN’s film company, decided to do a prequel that features the popular stars of this generation. In a recent media conference for the movie, Direk Mae revealed that she just realized later on that there was somehow pressure in doing this, based on the article from Bandera.
She shared that she accepted the movie project at the height of the ABS-CBN franchise issue. The director said that she wanted to help the network in whatever way she can. Then, came the realization.
“Noong tapos na yung call, nu’ng ilang days na, nag-sink in sa akin kung ano ba itong pinasok ko. Tama ba yung decision ko na tanggapin yung project, eh ‘Four Sisters’ iyan. Come on, napakalaking pelikula. Up to this day, it’s so relevant still. Hindi mamatay-matay yung popularity niya. It’s such a classic film,” the Four Sisters Before The Wedding director shared.
The fact that this will be done amid the pandemic also added challenge to the filmmaker. They had to shoot with the limited number of days and everything should be on the scheduled time.
Despite the pressure, Direk Mae said that she had to focus on the thing that motivates her and this goes also with the production. Fortunately, they are happy with the output so that means they did great.
Four Sisters Before The Wedding is set to be released on December 11 via KTX.ph, iWantTFC, TFC IPTV, Cignal PPV and Sky Cable pay-per-view.
