Man Presumed “Dead” Wakes Up Embalming Process Starts
“DEAD” MAN WAKES UP – A frightening incident occurred as a man presumed dead suddenly wakes up as embalming was about to begin.
According to local media reports, the man was identified as Peter Kigen, 32. Apparently, hospital staff pronounced the man dead four hours before the embalming began. As such, the mortuary staff started to slice his leg open.
But, instead of getting successful embalming, the mortuary staff got screams of pain. Kigen suddenly woke up, gasped for air, and was left frightened, and confused.
As per the reports, Kigen collapsed in a village in Bureti. Local authorities believed that a “stomach ailment” caused him to get unconscious. Afterward, his family rushed him to the hospital.
But, as the family got arrived, the nurses informed them that Kigen was “long-dead” before they got to the hospital. Next, the nurses gave Kigen’s brother a document saying that the body should be taken to the morgue.
Following the incidents, Kigen’s brother said: “We could not understand how they could move a person who is still alive into the mortuary“.
Meanwhile, as Kigen regained his consciousness, he did an interview with local media. During this, he said: “I cannot believe what just happened. How did they establish that I was dead? I did not even know where I was when I regained consciousness, but I thank God for sparing my life. I will serve him for the rest of my life.”
However, the doctor in charge of Kigen, Dr. Gilbert Cheruiyot, had a different narrative. According to him, it was Kigen’s family who rushed him to the mortuary.
Moreover, the doctor said that Kigen’s relatives didn’t even wait for a death certificate. Along with this, he said the family accused medical staff of “taking too much time” and decided to rush him into the mortuary. “The patient was later taken to the ward and is responding well to treatment. We hope to discharge him in a few days”, he added.
