COVID-19 Clusters In The Philippines Continues To Decrease
COVID-19 CLUSTERS – According to the Department of Health, the number of COVID-19 clusters in the Philippines continues to decrease.
Following one of the longest quarantine periods in the world, the Philippines has finally seen a steady decline in COVID-19 cases. Furthermore, the DOH said this trend would continue to decrease as no large clusters are currently present in the country.
During a virtual briefing, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said:
Makikita natin there is that decreasing trend in the number of cases and there is increasing availability of resources…
Yung clustering of cases nawala na po dito sa areas that were previously identified as hotspots
Additionally, she emphasized that the number of daily COVID-19 cases were stable at less than 2000 for the past week. Moreover, Vergeire stated that most regions have critical care for COVID-19 patients within the “safe zone”.
Also, hospitals, clinics, and other medical institutions have had an occupancy level of less than 85%. ““Maganda ang indikasyon na ito when it comes to the situation of COVID-19 here in the Philippines. But ang lagi nating sinasabi this is not the time to be complacent“, Vergeire said.
Hopefully, this trend continues with people being more respectful of the virus and health protocols. However, another outbreak may still be possible if authorities and the public become too lax.
