Brazil Reporter Slams PH Ambassador To Brazil For Abusing Domestic Helper
PH AMBASSADOR TO BRAZIL – The Philippines own Ambassador to Brazil who was praised for helping OFWs was caught beating her own Domestic Helper.
Recently, CCTV footage showing the abuse went viral on social media after another employee reported the ambassador to the embassy. Following this, the Philippine ambassador to Brazil Marichu Mauro was immediately sent back to the Philippines to explain her actions.
The Philippine ambassador to Brazil has been recalled effective immediately to explain the maltreatment of her service staff, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said on Twitter.
Brazilian reporter for the News Channel GloboNews reported the incident and detested the actions of Mauro. In one of the videos, you could see Mauro berating and mistreating her helper several times.
The reporter, Fabiano Andrade said GloboNews tried to get a response from the Ambassador. However, she did not respond. Meanwhile, Andrade expressed concerns regarding the incident saying “all workers deserve respect”.
“We are concerned that it will not happen again…The Filipino people, known worldwide for their work, do not deserve to be represented by a person with this behavior”, the reporter said.
