Metro Manila Age Restriction Clarified: Only 18-65 Allowed Outside Residence

METRO MANILA AGE RESTRICTION – The Metro Manila Council (MMC) clarified the recent announcement regarding age restrictions in the province.

Recently, there was an announcement that stated those ages 16-65 years old would be allowed outside their residences. However, MMC Chairman Edwin Olivarez clarified that only individuals aged 18 to 65 would be allowed outside.

During an interview on Teleradyo, the chariman said:

Okay po ang Metro Manila Council sa pagbubukas ng edad pagdating sa Authorized Persons Outside of Residence. Pero ang pinagkasunduan po, NCR (National Capital Region) lang po, 18 to 65

Furthermore, he emphasized that this rule only applies to Metro Manila. Meanwhile, the chairman noted that other provinces could have lowered their age restrictions to 16-65. However, the curfew in Metro Manila remains the same at 10:00 p.m.

As per the interview, Olivarez highlighted that the age limit rules were agreed upon by the secretaries during the meeting between Metro Manila Mayors and members of the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19.

Currently, the Philippines recorded over 356,600 cases of COVID-19. Of that number, more than 310,158 have recovered from the deadly disease. Sadly, there have been 6,652 individuals that have succumbed to the virus.
