Winners of Miss Philippines 2019 Seek Tulfo’s Help for Unpaid Prizes

5 Winners of Miss Philippines 2019 Cry Foul Over Unpaid Prizes

Five winners of Miss Philippines 2019 went to Raffy Tulfo to seek help after they weren’t paid yet for their prizes until now.

Miss Philippines 2019 Arlove De Jesus and her four runners-up — Jamilla Van Gestel (first), Joanna Valencia (second), Camille Llorente (third), and Charity Dawn Jamon (fourth) — expressed their frustration over the organization’s president, Victor Torre, in a virtual interview on the online show “Raffy Tulfo in Action” on Wednesday.

According to the beauty queens, it’s been almost a year but the prizes are still not given to the pageant winners. They were told earlier that they would get the thousands of cash prizes two months after the pageant.

However, when they met, they were only given half and the rest would be given after six months. The first check given to them was also a bounced check or invalid check.

Victor’s secretary even said that they can no longer find their president. He also revealed that he is no longer paid but still going to work.

The beauty queens are determined to file a lawsuit against the president of the Miss Philippines Foundation so that he can be held accountable for not giving them prizes. Tulfo then told the five beauty queens that he will help them file charges against the Miss Philippines Foundation president.

He consulted Atty. Garreth Tungol via video call, with the lawyer responding that they could file a large-scale estafa case against Torre. According to Tungol, Torre could face imprisonment of up to 12 years if he is proven guilty.
