Shooting In Patikul, Sulu Leaves One Individual Killed

SHOOTING IN PATIKUL – A terrorist shooting occurred in Patikul, Sulu on October 5, 2020 leaves one individual killed.

According to a report from SunStar, the fatality was identified as Tali Lakibul, a member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT).

Commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan said that residents of Barangay Igasan were harvesting their crops when suspects who were armed fired at them.

Vinulan said that the troops were immediately deployed in the area in order to establish a blockade along the possible withdrawal route of the suspected terrorists.

JTF Sulu Commander William Gonzales said that the local terrorists are anxious since the Pakitul residents declared them as persona non-grata.

“The LTG (local terrorist group) is anxious because the people of Patikul have declared the group as persona non-grata in the municipality that is why they create havoc to demonstrate their power,”

Based on the report, the Patikul Municipal Government declared the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) persona non grata after the twin explosions in Jolo, Sulu on August 24, 2020 which was said to have been perpetrated by ASG leader Mundi Sawadjaan.
