Pregnant Mother Dead; 2 Kids, Father Injured In Fire In Taytay, Rizal
FIRE IN TAYTAY – A house in Taytay, Rizal was razed by fire on early Wednesday morning, which killed a pregnant woman and injured her family.
According to ABS-CBN, residents who witnessed the incident, said that the fire occurred inside a junkshop at 1 AM in the early morning. Neighbors added that the fire quickly worsened
“Nakita ko ang laki na agad ng apoy sa gitna mismo ng junkshop. Ang laki na ng apoy kaya nagpatawag na kami ng bumbero agad,”

Those who responded to the incident said that the family there asked for help to get out of their burning house.
“May nakita kaming dalawang bata na sumisigaw. So ako nagkaripas din ako ng takbo para makatulong din ako,”

Yabut added that the two children were able to be extracted outside the house after coming out from the smashed window. The father was also able to get out.
“Yung anak po na dalawa ‘yun po agad ang inasikaso ko kasi po duguan sila eh,”
The two children and father received injuries but the respondents were unable to save the pregnant mother.
“Hindi na nakasama ang nanay kasi buntis eh, so nakita ko lang siya nandiyan humihingi siya ng tulong hanggang sa kinain na po s’ya ng apoy,”
The residents added that it took long before rescuers responded to the incident, based on the report.
The Taytay command center said that they approached the scene at 1:15 AM.
The local Bureau of Fire Protection did not raise any alarm and declared the fire under control at 2 in the morning. The fire was extinguished after more than 30 minutes.
Probe is still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire and the worth of damages.
