Pia Wurtzbach has this new advocacy
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach urged her fellow Filipinos to register in preparation for the next election.
Pia has been using her voice in order to raise social awareness. After all , she is known as the confidently beautiful with a heart because of what she is imparting through her advocacy.
Although she seldom uses her Twitter account, Pia took this platform in order to voice out what she wanted others to know. She retweeted several Twitter posts with the hashtag “Trans Lives Matter”.
Just recently, the issue about transwoman Jennifer Laude who was killed by Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton resurfaced. It is because President Rodrigo Duterte pardoned the latter after he was jailed since 2014.
The decision of the Chief Executive did not sit well with the LGBT community. Those who are supporting this community also fired back to the administration. As Pia Wurtzbach is one of the supporters of the rights of the LGBT community, she also voiced out her thoughts.
In her Twitter posts, she urged Pinoys to go out and register. “Please lahat tayo dapat mag register na maging voter. Bawat isa satin. Hindi na sapat na sa social media lang tayo naririnig. Our voices need to be heard thru our votes,” the beauty queen said.
She reiterated her plea to the Filipino people as there should no excuses anymore.
She also echoed the advocacy stating that “Trans rights are human rights.”
Pia Wurtzbach also said that she is hoping that netizens would respond to her tweet even though she is not frequently using the micro-blogging social media platform.
“I know I don’t use twitter much and I probably don’t have a lot of active followers here anymore. But pls for those who can read this. Please mag register tayo ha?” the fourth Pinay Miss Universe said.
