Illegal Drugs Retrieved In PNP Jail Raid In Dauis Town

JAIL RAID IN DAUIS TOWN – Operatives from the PNP and PDEA recently seized packets of illegal drugs in a jail raid in Dauis town, Bohol.

A raid occurred in a lock-up jail of the Dauis Police Station on Wednesday night, according to a report from Bohol Chronicle. The raid was conducted by operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The joint team discovered three grams of suspected illegal drugs, which was in the possession of Gregorio Arcena, aged 35 and a detainee, during the Greyhound Inspection.

The seized illegal drugs were said to have worth at about P20,120 based on the value that was set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.

Authorities added that the raid was conducted after Lt. Bonifacio Tanola, the acting chief of Dauis police, got a tip which indicates the sneaking of illegal drugs inside the station’s detention facility.

Based on the report, no other contraband was found during the inspection of the said detention facility., which contained 12 detainees, all charged fro illegal drug violation.

As for Arcena, who had the said drugs, he will be charged further for possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Last month, police destroyed illegal drugs which is worth P80.86 million at Tinglayan town in Kalinga province.

Cordillera police Brigadier General R’Win Pagkalinawan said that the said operation was conducted from August 17 to 19 at Mt. Chumanchil.
