Suspect Behind Occidental Mindoro Governor Attack Was Arrested

OCCIDENTAL MINDORO GOVERNOR – A man who attacked Occidental Mindoro Governor Eduardo Gadiano with knives was recently arrested on Tuesday.

The incident took place inside Governor Gadiano’s office in the provincial capitol in Mamburao town, according to a report from Inquirer.

The assailant was identified as Adriane Gatdula, who is a resident of the province. The motive of Gatdula’s crime is yet to be known. The sus[ect is currently under the custody of the Mamburao police.

Gadiano siad that the cops retrieved the suspect’s phone which could be a lead to find out who was he in contact with.

“The police retrieved (Gatdula’s) cellphone and maybe through that find out who he was in contact with,”

The attack occurred at 10 AM as the governor was attending to several concerns in his office. He added that there were a lot of people when the suspect stepped in and threw a spinning knife at him.

Fortunately, the governor was able to dodge the thrown knife but Gatdula drew out two more knives and attempted to stabthe governor.

“I blocked him with a chair. Then with another (government personnel), we pushed him back until he was cornered in the (office) bathroom,”

Based on the report, security staff arrived and took the governor to safety. The governor stressed that Gatdula aimed to assassinate him. However, he said that he had not heard of any threat to his life prior to the incident.
