DOH Appeals To Gadon To Stop Misleading People

DOH APPEALS TO GADON – Attorney Larry Gadon was asked not to “mislead” people with his statements regarding COVID-19.

Previously, Gadon was heavily criticized for his controversial statements about wearing face masks. He posted a video on his social media account saying that the virus could be killed if you drink vodka.

Weeks later, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said spreading falls information regarding the coronavirus is potentially dangerous to the public. According to an article from Inquirer, Vergeire stated:

Let us not try to mislead people with these remarks kasi po baka po lalo pang kumalat ang impeksyon. Naaapektuhan na po ang sambayanang Pilipino

Although the DOH respects the opinions of the public, they emphasized that the their policies on COVID-19 was always based on “science” and factual “evidence”. This includes wearing face masks, which has been proven to exponentially increase protection against COVID-19.

In Gadon’s last video, he said that wearing face shields and face masks weren’t important even when going out in public. “We respect the opinion of everybody, we have been receiving all these types of comments for the past weeks, for the past months na tayo ay lumalaban dito sa COVID-19 na ito”, Vergeire added.

As per the report, Gadon previously accused the Health Department of being paranoid and overreacting to the spread of COVID-19. He also asserted that the virus was “curable”.

“Para sa akin, kalabisan na sa akin eh, either naka-face shield ka o naka-face mask ka, hindi ako naniniwala sa DOH,” the controversial lawyer earlier said.
