Elderly Biker Pedals Around the City in Outfit Color Matched to His Bikes
A 70-year-old elderly biker has caught the attention of netizens online for his outfit color matching with his bike while roaming around the city.
The fashionista biker, Gil Gener Palomar, 70, became an Internet sensation for his head-turning look while pedaling around the street of Metro Manila. He dresses in one color from head to toe.
He matches the color of his outfit- from the helmet, face mask, body bag, and his bikes, that’s why he was called “Mr. Terno”. According to the article of PEP, Gil owns nine bikes in different colors.
He said in an interview, he personally assembles each of his nine bikes, the parts installed were also bought by himself. He also said that he painted them himself.
“Meron akong siyam na iba’t-ibang colors ng bike na paonti-onti kong binuo. Ako mismo ang nagkukulay at nag-a-assemble, bumibili ako ng parts,” he said in the interview.
Mr. Terno has been pedaling the streets of Metro Manila since 1988, and in 2011 he decided to match his outfits with the color of his bicycle. According to him, whatever color it is, he goes to Divisoria or Baclaran finds its “katerno.”
He revealed that he started to bike when he used to work in a bakery, with his aunt, selling pandesal. From job to job, he would use his trusty bicycle to work. From his house in Manila to as far as Taguig, where he used to work as a security guard, he would bike.
Gil shares that he bikes four times a week on EDSA going from Caloocan to Buendia and to Roxas Boulevard. While he pedals along his route many residents turn their heads and some also took a chance to get a picture with him.
