Grandmother of Kim Chiu passed away
Chinita Princess Kim Chiu is mourning over the death of her grandmother and she shared this tribute post on Instagram.
Francisca “Ayling” Chiu, the 85-year old lola of the actress passed away on August 9, based on the article from PEP. Kim is close with her grandmother because the elderly took care of her since she was 8 years old after her parents separated.
On August 11, Kim shared this tribute post for her “Ama”, a Chinese term that means grandmother. “She slept peacefully, and little did she know she would wake up in heaven,” the Chinita Princess said.
Kim Chiu also told lola that she will no longer wait for sunset and sunrise because “in heaven sun is always shining.” The actress said this because every time she would ask how is she, her lola would always say, “naghulat sa pagsaka sa adlaw ug nagpaabot na mu gabii. Para ugma napud.”
She also said that she will never forget that her grandmother would always tell that tomorrow is another day. “Thank you, ama for taking care of us, unconditionally,” the Chinita Princess said.
The actress also included the favorite song of her lola in her tribute post. “Played Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin coz I know that is one of your favorite songs and you always smile whenever I perform a Chinese song,” Kim shared.
Aside from mourning over the death of one of the closest persons in her life, Kim Chiu is also saddened by that fact that she could not travel back to Cebu, her hometown, to whisper her last goodbye for her Ama.
Fellow celebrities of Kim Chiu such as Sunshine Cruz, Angelica Panganiban, and Jona Viray extended their condolences.
